Coupon Trip #3

4 stores this week, Walmart, Raleys, Target and Safeway. Although there really were not many good deals this week I was still able to save $138 on this shopping trip. I stocked up on sports drinks, dog snacks and chips and found some great sale prices on meats and produce.

Since I am having some wisdom teeth pulled I especially looked for sales on yogurts, pudding, ice cream, etc. Overall not bad, but I am starting to think that if I want to find the best deals I need to change my routine and shop during the week instead of the weekends! Oh Well!

Sounds like there was a misprint in the Raleys Weekly add advertising Boulders Canyons 10 oz bags of chips at 10 for $10.00!!! Some stores are honoring the price on the ad but most have posted corrections. Check your local store, you may get lucky!! Deal good through June 21st, 2011.

Coupon Trip #2 completed!

There were a ton of deals on cereal this week and was able to stock up my family and friends with all of our favorite cereals. I also got some good deals on items such as dog snacks, dog food, fruit snacks, hot dogs, frozen foods etc.

Total Savings for trip #2 was $158.00 a 41% savings on my grocery bill. Not great but not bad either!

Awesome Coupon for Kikkoman's Soy Sauce

There is a great coupon available on Facebook for Kikkoman's Soy Sauce at Kikkoman's Kitchen! The coupon is for $1.00 off. I printed mine and was able to get a decent Raley's, however there is supposed to be an awesome deal at some Walmart's according to thekrazycouponlady.com (one of my favorite websites!!). Lesson #3- Reusable Grocery Bags

Reusable or cloth grocery bags are not only good for the environment now they are good for your wallet!! Most grocery stores will credit you $0.05 for every reusable grocery bag that you bring in. These bags are an awesome investment! I have purchased them for under $1.00 at some of my local grocery stores. Give it a try!!

I just found an awesome deal on Kelloggs cereal at Rite Aid!

Kelloggs cereal Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran, Apple Jacks, Pops, Fruit Loops and Rice Crispies are on sale for $1.88 a box with your Wellness card and if you have the $1.00 off two Kelloggs boxes or the $0.70 off each box you can get your cereal for as low as $1.18 a box!!!

Lesson #2- Printable Coupons

Printable coupons are an awesome way to save money. You can get so many coupons online that you would not normally see in your area. I love using websites that have coupon databases (see some of the links on my blog) because they make it so easy to just click and print what you want.

Most coupon website will only allow you to print 2 coupons from each computer so for maximum savings use multiple computers! You will need to install coupon printer add ons for most sites so please don't use your work computers unless your boss ok's it!!!

Also, keep in mind that unlike the coupons you get in the mail, printable coupons have an added expense. Consider the cost of ink and paper (most sites print 1 coupon per page). Also consider the amount of time it takes to sit in front of the computer to find all of the coupons you want.

My first attempt at this coupon thing was pretty good! Saved $150.00!!!! I went to several stores, Walgreens, Raleys, Target, Walmart. All the planning was well worth it!


I got great deals on Purina dog food, General Mills Cereals and so much more! Not bad for a beginner! Stay tuned for my next shopping adventure!
